Gareth Davies - Youth worker at PYD shares whats been happening at Neon, their Friday after school programme.
Thank you so much for the support of our after school programme “Neon” over the last term. Since we began picking up students from Casebrook on Friday afternoons our programme has grown considerably.
As well as numbers growing at Neon, the quality of the afternoons has improved with bigger and better activities and a tighter team of skilled volunteers. They have been able to provide excellent supervision and are excited about providing a quality service and making sure the young people are entertained, safe and of course having loads of fun. Last week we had rock climbing, bouncy castles and the regular X-box games, sports in the hall and crazy challenges. We make sure that every week is a blast!
As well as running after school services for different ages throughout the week PYD also has many other functions including running holiday programmes. Some of the activities we have planned in the next school holidays are trips to the Westpac Trust helicopter and St. John’s ambulance, Impact Alpha, Tothills Maze, ten pin bowling and the Air Force Museum. We strive for these holiday programmes to be of the highest quality and engaging for young people, so be aware that places fill up very quickly!
If you are interested in your young person attending Neon or are interested about what we do at the youth centre or our holiday programmes please send me an email and we will send you an information pack, registration form and a permission slip (if you would like your child to be collected in our van service).
Please be aware that the van service is just a one way trip and the vans leave Casebrook no later than 3.05pm.
Thanks and regards.
