Casebrook has a canteen that is managed by Mrs MacLennan (Mrs Mac) and Co-managed by Mrs Davanney.
Everything is made daily. There is also daily specials, that are only available on certain days. For example, on Wednesday you can order sushi from Sushi Ya. On other days there are other delicious items like bacon or mushroom frittatas, potato wedges, Caesar salad and beef nachos. The daily specials change each term except for sushi, which is always available on Wednesdays.
The canteen has a fast, reliable and easy ordering system. At morning tea you pay for your desired lunch item, and you receive a token. At 12:45-12:55pm (lunch eating time) you go over and receive your food and hand in your token and pick up the food you ordered. If you don’t have a token but want to purchase food you need to wait until 12:55pm.
Each week six students are chosen to help volunteer in the canteen. There are six jobs they can do, these are money, hot food, fridge and apple slinkies and last but not least freezer and tokens. When students are on money they have to be reliable and ensure they are giving the right change and getting the correct orders. On hot food the students get to deal with....well hot food. They also have to make hot chocolate and put hot water into the noodles. When on the fridge, you also have the job of apple slinkies. On tokens you get the tokens and get things out of the freezers and hand them to the person who wanted it.
In conclusion the Canteen is a great place to get some delicious food at great prices.
