On the 28th of February Casebrook held their first inter-house competition for 2018. It was the annual tug of war competition, the four houses went head to head to win 1st place and earn house points.
First was the Year 7 girls:
1st place went to Cavendish, 2nd to Northfield, 3rd to Sawyers and 4th to Veitches.
Next was the Year 8 girls:
1st place went Veitches, 2nd to Cavendish, 3rd to Northfield and 4th to Sawyers.
After that it was the Year 7 boys turn:
In 1st place was Veitches, 2nd place was taken again by Cavendish, 3rd for Northfield and a last placing for Sawyers.
Finally was the Year 8 boys, in which Veitches once again took out the competition, 2nd once again was Cavendish, 3rd went to Northfield and Sawyers were 4th.
The last match was Staff VS Students, some of the strongest pupils from each house were chosen to compete against the staff. It was very close but the staff ended up winning.
For the overall results taking out the competition with a tough fight was Veitches, by six points, coming 1st in Year 7 boys, Year 8 Boys and Year 8 girls. Cavendish came 2nd with a total of 220 points, Northfield got 156 points, and Sawyers with 126 points. Most of the points were earned in the house chants which Cavendish won, and lots of other points were received for being quiet after each tug of war match.
Overall the day was a massive success and everyone enjoyed the day. Everyone loved dressing up in their house colours and supporting their school house.
