On Wednesday 6th September, Casebrook sent 3 hip hop teams to Hornby High School for a hip hop competition.
Here are some interviews and results from 3 members, 1 from each team:
Team 1 Novice - Lily Burns, Team 2 Novice - Ariella Brown and Team 3 Open Group - Isabella Ferkatovich.
Q1: Ariella, What do you think went well?
Ans 1: I think it was us just performing in general and the strong arm movements. But I think we need to make our moves more clear, overall I think we did 5/10.
Q2: Ariella, What was your experience like?
Ans 2: It was fun but tiring and it was also a nice experience hanging out with people I don’t normally hang out with and watching all the other dances.
Q3: Isabella, what was your favourite thing about the competition?
Ans 3: I think it was just watching the other groups dance and having fun on stage. Also trying our hardest to place, it was fun making and hanging out with new friends
Q4: Isabella, what do you think your group could have done better?
Ans 4: First of all I think we could have done a more casual 2017 dance and music instead of doing old fashioned music from 1976. Also we could have done a fast hip hop dance and some people could have remembered the dance moves better.
Q5: Lily, was it a hard competition for you?
Ans 5: It was alright and really fun. I was super excited when my group, Novice Group 1, got to perform again in front of the judges but I was really nervous at the same time!
Q6: Lily, do you think you did well? If so what were your thoughts?
Ans 6: Sort of, I think we could have done a faster more hip hoppy dance and have more strong arm movements. Also be more in time with each other and have practised more.
Final results: Team 1 Novice Group 76.67 points, Team 2 Novice Group 59.67 points and Team 3 Open Group 63.34 points.
