It's been another successful year at the annual Cantamath competition in both the Team Competitions and Exhibition and Display Competitions
Well done to the Year 7 and Year 8 teams that competed at the annual Cantamath competition last night at Horncastle Arena. Once again there were over 85 teams competing in each year level competition.
The Year 7 team of Ethan Hamilton, Sienna Fox, Ryan Maule and Rosemary Webber scored a fantastic 45 points in a tough competition which finished with only two teams top scoring with 80 points.
The Year 8 team of Ethan Adams, Breanna Cottom, Olivia Isitt and Liam McIntyre scored an excellent 80 points. Only 8 teams scored 85 points or more, with three teams reaching the 100 point maximum.
Congratulations also to the pupils who had work entered into the Exhibition and Display part of the competition. Feel free to come on down and check out the displays in the office foyer.
Special mention must be made about the Year 8 technical maths groups who worked with Lauren Dick-McCann and Paul Cook to create fabulous mathematical-based static and dynamic models.
Many of these projects received Highly Commended and Excellence certificates.
Well done to everyone who took part.
