As a part of our Science program this term a mixture of 75 students from Rooms 2, 4, 7, 8, 9 and 12 went to visit the “Mirror Magic” exhibit at the Canterbury Museum. The students were able to reflect on their Science learning outside of the classroom and explore the world of mirrors from all different angles.
Our Casebrook Scientists challenged their perceptions with some anamorphic art, used the light table to
demonstrate how light is reflected and refracted, investigated lenses with
kaleidoscopes and a build-it-yourself periscope, and looked at their
reflections in over 20 different mirror stations.
With loads of hands-on experiences to investigate and in-depth science explanations for each of the phenomena being observed, “Mirror Magic” was a highly engaging and interactive learning experience for all.
