Have you ever gone without something you love for 40 hours? If you haven’t it’s time to try the 40 Hour Famine.
The 40 Hour Famine is where you go without something you love for 40 hours, for example no talking, eating, sleeping and more. You are doing it to raise money for people that are at refugee camps. From the 9th to the 11th of June several kids from Casebrook Intermediate did the 40 hour famine to raise money for the people in Syria.
Vivien and Alisa from Room 1 said, “it was very hard but super fun.”
Emma Cockburn and Jazzlyn John from Room 9 were two of the many people that did it. Jazzlyn did no eating and Emma did no talking. Jazzlyn said, “my stomach felt like it was swelling up.” Emma had a million things she could say but unfortunately nothing was allowed to come out.
The students involved can’t wait to see how much money the school has raised for the poor people that have had to flee their country.
