The Tōtaranui Kāhui Ako Cultural Festival was a joyful celebration of the diverse cultures that make up our Kāhui Ako.
Despite forecasts of rain, the weather held off, allowing the event to shine as brightly as the performers and attendees who gathered to share in the festivities.
The festival showcased a dazzling array of cultural performances, from powerful haka and melodic waiata to the vibrant rhythms of Pasifika siva and the intricate beauty of traditional Korean dances. There was something for everyone, as students proudly represented their heritage and whānau members cheered them on.
Free food stalls added a delicious layer to the celebration, offering tasty treats like fry bread and sapasui that kept everyone’s spirits high and stomachs full. It was a true community feast, reflecting the manaakitanga that binds us together.
The festival was brought to life by our MCs — Malachi, Arlia, Kian, and Mila — who kept the event flowing seamlessly. A huge thank you goes to the across-school teachers for their dedication in organizing the event, ensuring every detail was in place to create a memorable experience.
We are also deeply grateful to the whānau and community members who came out to support, as well as to the teachers and tutors who worked tirelessly to prepare their groups and get them to the festival. Your mahi made this day truly special.
As the day wrapped up, the spirit of unity and celebration lingered in the air. This year’s cultural festival was a remarkable success, and we can’t wait to come together again in 2025 to celebrate our shared values and vibrant diversity.
Fa'afetai tele lava to everyone who helped make this event unforgettable!
