Te Kura Mareko Casebrook is going to Jellie Park on Friday the 13th of December for the annual Big Day Out.
Miss Rennie who teaches in Room 13 and attended Jellie Park last year said why they do this for the students. “We do it to celebrate students who have shown REP and have worked hard this year.” She also said, “The school pays for the students' pool entry and sausage sizzle but students pay for the hydroslide if they want to go on it.”
Two Year 8 students commented about the event last year, Oscar Robertson, the Head Boy, said, “I enjoyed the experience, it was fun but cold.” He was one of the students who paid $7.00 and said, “We went on the hydroslides and it was really fun.” He also shared one of the downsides of Big Day Out, “I wish the weather could be somewhat warmer though.”
Florence Proaño-Mears, the Head Girl, reiterated about the weather. “I wish it was a sunny day because the weather was kind of depressing.”
Hopefully, the weather will be hot and sunny this year. The forecast looks promising.
We are excited for Big Day Out this year and are really looking forward to it.
