Staff v Student’s Netball Game

Casebrook had its first Staff v Students netball game of the year. This was played last Wednesday the 27th of November after lunch on the east court.

It was exciting to see the Red team give it their all against the teachers. The teachers wanted to prove to the students that they were the best and were playing to win. It was an intense game to watch and there was a lot of yelling and cheering for the teams.

This is what the teachers thought of the game. Miss Lancaster said, “My favourite part of the game was being able to play a game of netball with NZ netball star Will Kirk! I was very happy with the score because the teachers won!” Miss Wilkinson said, ”I really enjoyed the game and I have been playing up until age 18 so I have experienced playing netball before. “

We asked Mila S what preparation she did for the game and she said, “We had very little preparation and felt a bit unready for this game.” She also thought that they needed to work better as a team because they didn’t have their coach to tell them what positions to play. Lydia said, “I found it hard playing against the teachers because they are full grown adults and because they have Mr Kirk. I think I need to work on my defence.”

Overall, all of the students in the team said that the height advantage was unfair and the staff had more experience. Some of them even said that the teacher's advantage was having Mr Kirk on the other team since he is a professional.
