Te Ao Māori and Te Reo Māori are an important part of our teaching and learning programmes.

Te Ao Māori

Te Ao Māori is an important and respected practice at our kura. Students, as part of their homeroom, take part in Te Ao Māori (the Māori world) through Project Based Learning as well as in their Te Reo Māori programme. Te Ao Māori looks at integrating the stories and understandings of our rūnanga Ngāi Tūahuriri through art, storytelling and performance.

Te Reo Māori

All students are taught Te Reo Māori during their Specialisation learning. This 13 week programme allows students to build on a range of sentence structure, kupu and understanding of the Māori Language. It is an expectation that Te Reo Māori is taught by their homeroom teacher which runs a separate programme to the Specialisation rotation.
