This term is nearly complete. It has been very exciting meeting new students, new teachers, and teacher helpers. We’ve had renovations to an area of our school, the new court, and Tech and Spec rooms.
We’ve also added a new item to the canteen, a new brand of juice, replacing the cool-sips.
During this term, we have been doing a Year 8 Sports Rotation on a Tuesday afternoon. During this period of time, we have been playing multiple sports, with different teachers, and using different types of movement. With this rotation we’ve been doing this with the entire group of Year 8 classes. We have been playing a variety of sports, including multi-sport basketball, butt baseball, drop bat cricket etc. and have been having fun.
The sport rotation works by making all the Year 8 classes sit down on the court, while the teachers assign us to different teachers and they teach us a game or sport that you may or may not know. Every time it’s the day for sport we get a different teacher and sport, it's a fun way to end the day.
This helps and is the most efficient way for us to learn a new game, practise our skills, our teamwork and boost our social interaction with different people in our class, all at the same time! This way it makes it easier to make different friendships, and expand more work with multiple classes.
This is a really fun activity to do with separate people and we hope we keep doing it throughout the year because it's a fun way to go outside and release some energy.
