Te Kura Mareko Casebrook Intermediate took the house leaders to the Celebration Events Centre on Wednesday 5th April to take place in the GRIP Leadership conference.

GRIP Leadership is an independent organisation that exists to train and develop leaders with a special focus on school students. Here is what some of our leaders had to say about the day.

Oscar - “The GRIP Leadership conference was an educational experience. We learned different leadership skills. Skills like helping the community, how to locate problems and many more. I thoroughly enjoyed it and believe it has made me a better leader by far.”

Ollie - “The GRIP leadership meeting was a good way to teach us to think outside the box. My favourite part of the meeting was all the interactive games and challenges during the conference. It was also good to meet all of the leaders from other schools and to see their ideas and thoughts.”

Mila - “The GRIP leadership course was a nice way to learn to be a leader through interacting with other student leaders from other schools. We learned helpful tips and good ways to improve on our skills and confidence. At the course, there were fun games and competitions which were fun as everyone could join in. Overall, I think it was a good chance to learn about being a good leader and it helped.”

Florence - “The GRIP leadership course was a great way to teach us how to act as a leader. We learned in fun and interactive ways how to be an amazing leader, at the end they did an interviewing time, where you can ask anything to past school leaders. Overall GRIP leadership is a really great chance to learn about leadership.”

Arlia - “The GRIP leadership course was an amazing learning opportunity to be a leader. We got the chance to do some activities with students from other schools which helped build up our confidence and we learned heaps of new skills. It was a very fun 10/10 day to learn how to be a leader through games and activities.”

Malachi - ‘The GRIP leadership course was a great place to learn how to be a leader for your own school. They taught us how to act as a leader, getting people to listen and learn from us as a leader and everything a leader could possibly do. The staff of GRIP leadership took us through some games and activities. Overall GRIP leadership was a really good time to learn about leadership.”
