As part of our Health Curriculum each class will have some learning with Life Education.
Life Education are currently working in our kura. We are lucky enough to welcome Keri back to our school, and of course, the student's favourite giraffe, Harold!
Year 7's have been learning about substances including vaping, alcohol and smoking. These lessons went through addiction and strategies around these. They also learnt about harmful vs helpful drugs. Students were given information on how to "say no" and avoid peer pressure.
Year 8's have been looking at peer pressure, resilience and a recap on addiction from Year 7. There was a really good activity around figuring out who is on their "team", people who they can rely on in their friendship groups, how to recognise pressures that people in the world may place on them and how to work through it.
