Our school proudly joins World Vision’s 40-Hour Challenge this year, standing together to combat climate change and aid communities in need.
World Vision’s 40-Hour Challenge invites participants to go without something for 40 hours to raise money and awareness for global issues like climate change, poverty, and unsafe water. While the climate crisis affects us all, our neighbours in the Asia-Pacific region, such as Timor-Leste, suffer the most, facing droughts, extreme storms, and rising seas that have destroyed 90% of their rainforest.
Grant Bayldon, National Director of WVNZ, stated, “Never in history has it been more possible to help make real change in people’s lives and futures than it is right now. Going towards rather than away from suffering is part of living life in all its fullness - both for us and for the children and communities we serve.”
If you’re looking for inspiration for the 40-Hour Challenge, consider activities like camping in a tent for 40 hours, planting 40 trees, or even going without electricity. Every effort helps; if everyone in New Zealand contributed just a dollar, we could raise $5,000,000 for those in dire need.
Currently, 70 of our students have signed up, but it's not too late to join. Plus, participating earns you five Casebrook Challenge points. Let’s work together to keep our planet beautiful and make a real difference.
40 hours? Challenge accepted.
