Over Week 7, 8 and 9, ASB GetWise have been visiting classrooms for both Years 7 and 8.
ASB GetWise have been visiting classrooms for both Years 7 and 8 and informing them all about how to manage and use their money as they earn it. Here is what some students from Rooms 4 and 7 have to say about their lessons so far.
Lucas from Room 7 said that his class had one lesson about the ASB programme. He said he learned that sometimes cheaper things are better to buy than expensive things. Lucas has started saving money and learned from this lesson how to not go broke, and he thinks that it’s good to know about managing money. Lucia from Room 7 had a similar response and she had also enjoyed the lesson.
Lucia said that she learned how different companies use different techniques to get people to buy stuff. From Room 7 we interviewed Lydia. She said she enjoyed the lessons and discovered that it was important to learn about money and saving for when you are older. Lydia had started saving money a few days ago and saved $6 since then.
We also interviewed some Year 7s from Room 3: Mason, Sreemoyee and Lacey. They said the lessons were fun and that they liked Jeff the ASB guy. They learned about marketing and found the lessons important so you don’t go bankrupt. They learned tips about how to save money.
