Why was Alexander the Great so "Great"?

Matt Watts spent time with Room 15 answering their questions about Alexander the Great and why he led such an effective military campaign.

As part of our inquiry into civilisations, Room 15 “Zoomed” in on Matt Watts, a current PhD candidate from the University of Otago.

He spoke to the class about Alexander The Great, ancient coins, and military strategy.

Matt Watts’ PhD is currently examining a lesser-known text of the later part of his campaign.

When Matt was sent the questions, he was particularly impressed that eleven and twelve-year olds could come up with some of them, he had to do a bit of research!

For our final projects for inquiry, students are creating their own civilizations. Part of the interview's purpose is to get ideas for what to use and put in your civilisation.

Good luck to Matt in his upcoming conference in Nebraska!
