Isla Wray has competed in a dance competition.
Liam Peters and Josh Maamaloa from Room 3 have interviewed Isla about her dancing:
What competition did you enter?
The New Zealand Dance Awards. (NZDA)
What place did you come?
I came 3rd.
How do you think you did?
Really well, the best I've ever danced.
Tell us how you got into dancing?
Just started randomly by watching movies and learning off of them.
Tell us a bit about your dance routine?
It's a musical theatre routine and the song is from High School Musical.
How do you get judged in your routine?
I get tested on my grooming, technique, and performance. Each category is out of 20 points and grooming is 10 so you can get 50 total points.
How did you feel about the judging criteria and feedback you received?
Happy and like shocked very shocked.
How hard to do you find dancing?
It's gotten easier but then I get harder dances the more I train.
How much do you have to practise?
1 hour and 30 minutes a day.
