Recently some Casebrook Intermediate students have had success with some of their sporting events.

Savanna Duffell: Gymnastics Pro

Savanna Duffel from Room 13 recently competed in an inter-school gymnastics competition and achieved impressive results. Despite some setbacks Savanna delivered a strong performance.

Her mother shared, “Sav has struggled with injuries and mental blocks this year, along with changes in her coaching team. As a result, she hasn’t been able to compete at her usual high level. However, this competition was her most consistent yet. She finished 4th on vault and floor, and 5th on bars and beam, earning 5th place overall in the school's competition.”

Savanna was very proud to represent Casebrook Intermediate. She has also shown REP which stands for Respect, Excellence, and Perseverance, our school values.

Jay Yue Tan: Badminton Ace

Another Casebrook star, Jay Yue Tan from Room 15, has made a mark in the world of badminton. After five years of playing, Jay led his team to a fantastic third-place finish at a recent tournament.

Inspired by watching his brother play, Jay and his team faced both excitement and hurdles on their journey. “The preparation was a lot of fun,” Jay said.

When Jay first stepped onto the court, he felt a mix of nerves and excitement. A memorable highlight was their close mixed doubles match against North Harbour, the tournament winners. “Almost beating them was a great moment,” Jay recalls.

Jay learned a valuable lesson from this experience: “Never give up, even if you think you’re going to lose.” With his sights set on securing first place next year.

Congratulations to both Savanna and Jay for their amazing achievements!!
