Sustainability Spotlight: Costumes for this year's production

By Aleisha Nicholson | Posted: Monday September 9, 2024

We're excited to announce that this year's production costumes have been crafted with sustainability at the forefront.

Many of our costumes are created from repurposed second-hand clothing and discarded fabrics sourced from local op shops. In addition, some items have been ingeniously crafted from materials obtained from "creative junk."

Not only are we dedicated to sustainability, but we are also proud to contribute to our community. By purchasing items from stores such as St John's, The Salvation Army, and SPCA, we are supporting these vital community organisations.

Check out some examples of the Upcycled Creations below;

  • Many of the cloaks were made from old black or white sheets

  • This character costume is an op-shop find along with material found at creative junk

  • The masks were made from materials sourced from “creative junk”

Our costume wizard, Irene Williams has done an amazing job of sourcing and creating costumes for the medieval period.
