The Year 7 students have settled in well and the Year 8 students are modelling what it means to be a Casebrook REP.
The Year 7 activity days are almost complete with just a couple of classes to complete their surfing day. The Waltham Pool day on Monday was a huge success and the weather played its part.
All but two classes have completed the Year 8 camps. This year saw two classes going out to Wainui together and spending nights in both the cabins and tents. The initial feedback on this has been very positive.
Thanks to all the parent helpers who have enabled these activities to occur. We will formally thank our parents who have helped out during the year at Casebrook in Term 4.
Student engagement at Casebrook remains one of the key student targets. Students who do not feel connected to the school, with their peers or an adult, have a greater chance of disengaging from learning. Extracurricular involvement can be the gateway to being connected or reconnecting with school and learning overall.
Many of the extracurricular activities are now underway or students are beginning to opt into these. Please have a discussion with your child about what they are wanting to get involved in. There is a list of extracurricular activities that Casebrook offer on the school website.
Congratulations to the 100 students who competed in five different sports at the CAIMS Summer Tournament on Tuesday. A special mention to Henry and Jimmy from Room 8 for their sportsmanship at the Lawn Bowls. With the change of season, the sporting focus will switch to Winter Sports and signups and trials will occur before the end of term.
If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact the classroom teacher or the staff in the office.
