On Wednesday, the 14th of February 2024, Casebrook students were treated to a musical performance in our very own school hall. Some of our talented private music tutors spoke to students about how to sign up to learn an instrument with them.
At Casebrook, we're very lucky to have such a range of instruments to learn and musical opportunities to be involved with.
Kororia and Leroy from Room 15 caught up with Mr Broad to find out about his busy role as music coordinator.
What instruments can you learn at Casebrook?
Guitar, piano, singing, drums, brass, and violin.
How long have you been in charge of music at Casebrook?
About two and a half years.
Have you ever played any instruments?
I don't currently, but I used to play guitar, bass guitar, tenor drum, bagpipes, and keyboard.
If you could have dinner with any two famous musicians, who would you choose and why?
Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters and Nirvana, and Trent from Nine Inch Nails. Both are very creative and intelligent people and have created some of my favourite songs.
