Miss Richards - Room 14

We want to welcome Miss Frankie Richards to Te Kura Mareko.

We were lucky enough to have had Miss Richards relieve at Casebrook last year. This year she is here everyday as the Room 14 teacher. We have asked her some questions so we can get to know her better.

  • How have you found your first week at Casebrook?

My first week has been so much fun! It has been great getting to know the students and seeing a few familiar faces from my time relieving here last year!

  • How long have you been in education for?

This is my second year in education! I spent last year teaching relief at Chisnallwood, Addington School and here.

  • Why do you love being a teacher? In education?

I love that I come to work and no two days are the same. I get to see so many awesome young people grow into even more awesome young adults.

  • What are you most looking forward to this year?

The holidays! Kidding, I am really excited for our outdoor education sessions this year! It is such a great opportunity for team building and testing our perseverance.

  • What is your favourite subject to teach and why?

Inquiry and social studies are my favourites! I think it is super important that our students know about what is happening in the world around them.

  • What do you enjoy doing outside of school?

I enjoy getting my hands dirty. My dad and brother are mechanics, and loads of my friends are too, so I enjoy making use of their knowledge and messing around with engines. I also enjoy spending time with my American Staffy, Tilly.

  • What is your hidden talent?

I was always told I am pretty good at drawing, so I would say that.

We know our community will make her feel welcome!
