Recently at Casebrook we had an interclass basketball tournament at lunch time with all of the Year 8 classes playing last week and the Year 7’s playing this week.
Each class chose eight players to put forward hoping to do well in the competition. Each class had one class vs class game to prove themselves in order to move onto the semi finals.
In the Year 8 finals, we had Room 1 vs Room 15. At the end of the game, Room 1 ended with a score of 30 and Room 15 with a score of 20.
We interviewed a few students from the finals and here’s what they had to say:
Jonty (Room 1 Student):
Q: Who was the hardest opponent you faced?
A: Room 15
Q: What were some tactics you used?
A: Passing and communication.
Q: Who was the hardest person to guard?
A: Cordel from Whatukura.
Q: What did your team do well or what are your team's strengths and weaknesses?
A: We had good players and a weakness was when our good player James got subbed out.
Alanah & Ashleigh (Room 15 Students):
Q: What did your team do well or what are your team's strengths and weaknesses?
A: We did well with communication and good defence. We would like to work on our shooting.
Q: What challenge did you face in the finals when you versed Room 1?
A: They were a lot taller.
Good luck to the Year 7’s who began their interclass competition this week!
