Approximately 50 Casebrook students participated in the Zones Competition.
On Thursday the 23rd, Intermediate schools from all over Canterbury and the South Island came to compete in an athletics competition at Nga Puna Wai.
We interviewed one of the competitors that went to the event, Malachi Rattray. He participated in 100m, discus, long jump and the 4x100m relay. Malachi said, “I had lots of fun at the competition. I had the most fun in my discus because I came first!”.
Everyone at the competition tried their best and every single person seemed to have a good time. There were many volunteers helping out, and plenty of Canterbury Athletics officials to make sure things ran smoothly.
This year, all of the students that participated, should be proud of themselves for how well they did. Let’s hope that next year will be just as good and successful for Casebrook.
