Casebrook Leadership 'Camp'

Our house leaders, student council and Kapa Haka leaders have just completed a two day leadership course.

Student leadership and student voice are extremely important aspects of Casebrook curriculum and participation and engagement in our school.

To ensure authentic leadership opportunities we have given our student leadership team a two day course on what it takes to lead, collaborate and make change happen.

The focus for the course was around what the moral purpose of what being a leader is - Sam Johnson from Student Volunteer Army confirmed that message - it is about making a change to benefit everyone in your community.

A number of challenges ensure the students all worked with new people and forged closer working relationships with fellow student leaders. Community action was enjoyed by all as well as creating a 'leadership' lunch that represented what they learned about life in leadership.

You can see below some of the learning enjoyed by the students over the two days.

A big thanks to all the students who participated so well and their parents/whānau and teachers for attending the presentation afternoon tea on Tuesday. It is a pleasure to work with such motivated young people and their families!
