Japanese Women's Football Team Training

On the first day back at school, 17th of July, the Casebrook girls football team took a trip to Orangetheory Stadium, to watch the Japanese Women's Football Team train for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023.

Most people on the team made posters or signs to support the team while they trained. It was really inspiring to watch and learn from a professional football team. Everyone who went to watch, teachers and students, enjoyed their time at the stadium.

They did drills like practising defence, agility and shooting. They kept repeating these exercises over and over so it became muscle memory to them. All the players on the team worked really hard and worked together. While they played a practice game their communication was essential, they did this really well.

At the end of the training there wasn’t enough time to get photos with the players. So the players of the team lined up on the field while the audience lined up to go down, give them a high five and get a postcard with all their signatures on it.

It was a great experience. Everyone on the team had a lot of fun!
