Over the next few months we will be working with schools in Korea.
To begin our learning with schools in Korea we start with Wans Girls School. The purpose of these lessons is to provide the Korean students with an insight to what life is like in New Zealand. It will also allow them to develop their English speaking skills.
Room 9 students had their first session on Monday. This was an introduction lesson where Casebrook students presented to Wans Girls School about their families, pets, hobbies, school interests and future aspirations. The students in Korea then presented about themselves before a round of questions.
Next term we will engage in sessions about tourist attractions in Christchurch and Jeonju (where they live in Korea). The final lesson will be based around the cultures in Korea and New Zealand as well as at sport and food.
After these lessons have taken place the students will travel to New Zealand and stay with their homestay. They will get to experience life in a kiwi school as well as getting to experience what Christchurch has to offer.
We have enjoyed connecting with Wans Girls School so far and we look forward to the three other schools that we will meet throughout the year.
Thank you to Mrs Goulden who has worked so hard behind the scenes to bring this to life.
