Anya, Esme, and Karah from Room 5 wanted to learn more about this innovative extension run at Te Kura Mareko!
Epro-8 is just one of the many extension groups at Casebrook Intermediate. Epro-8 is a good place to learn about engineering. You also get many opportunities to go to competitions and develop skills to get a well-paying job in the future.
Casebrook is sending two teams to the Christchurch competition this year. Each team is given the same equipment and gets to demonstrate their creativity by creating their own things to make. The competition lasts for two hours.
This year, the competition is at Russley School from the 19th until the 20th of June. It is held at different schools each year.
At Casebrook, Epro-8 has only been around for four or so years. They have many different people coming through each year to do it. The teams try to practise two times a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays.
