"Brother and Sister Bonds" is the name of our new korowai that have been made for our kura.
The korowai is a traditional woven cloak that is worn as a sign of prestige and honour. Our school korowai will be worn by our Kapa Haka leaders during school events as well as performance.
Miss Rennie, Miss Wilkinson, Miss Kerr & Mrs Dick-McCann completed Te Ahu o Te Reo Māori in 2022 and were given a koha for this study and wanted to give back to our school. Each of them donated a portion of their study money towards the purchase of nga korowai.
They have been blessed and named by their creator - Jeanine Thomas. The colours represent our school and a nod to the previous school colour of burgundy as demonstrated by the red feathers in the korowai.
We look forward to using our korowai at upcoming events.
