The best deputy principal in the world, Mr Leith, is leaving Casebrook to take up the role of Principal at Redcliffs School.
Mr Leith has been at Casebrook Intermediate since 2012.
He has been here for 12 years and a new exciting opportunity came up that he could not resist.
Redcliffs School appeals to Mr Leith because it’s a new community, new buildings and has a salty breeze. His thoughts on becoming a principal is that he is nervous that they won't like his jokes. Also, he has lots to learn which will be hard and he will probably lose all his hair. He has to be very sensible in public too, which will be hard.
Mr Leith's favourite memories at Casebrook are the people he has worked with, the families he has met, the creative and fun things we have done together and the sporting events he has been part of. “All the students at school are appreciative of what we do for them,” he said.
Mr Leith's advice for new students coming to Casebrook is to take their time to get to know everyone, be brave and try something new. Always remember why you're coming to school, which is to learn about subjects and life.
If he wasn't involved in education he would have wanted to be a journalist or a talentless musician but he never got to be one. The thing that Mr Leith will miss the most about Casebrook is everyone he's worked with.
Mr Leith said “What's done can’t be undone but learn from it and don’t be an egg.”
