Our Year 8 Wainui camps and Year 7 adventure days are well underway, the weather has caused some interruptions but nothing like many of our North Island schools and Whānau are experiencing.
Thank you very much for the support you have offered our young people prior to their camp or outing and a special thank you to those who have accompanied a trip. They cannot happen without your support. If we postpone an event, camp departure or return early we do so to ensure all involved are safe and have the best experience possible.
Our thoughts are very much with the communities across the North Island who have suffered devastation at the hands of the recent storm. For many of us the events will bring back vivid memories of earthquake times. To offer support we are holding a non uniform day on Friday and all procedes will go to the Red Cross to be used where the need is greatest. We ask that you give a gold coin or two.
It is with very mixed feelings of both excitement and sadness that we will farewell Mr Nick Leith, our Deputy Principal, at the end of this term. We congratulate him on his well deserved appointment as Principal of Redcliffs School. Nick has had a positive impact on the direction Casebrook has developed especially the culture and systems in our school, all things that allow us to offer support where needed and be highly functioning. We have a clear future pathway and much is due to Nick's insight and understanding of the needs of our young people, staff and community. I am confident he will continue to have a significant impact in education.
Please take the time to read the articles later in this newsletter. We use this as a main source of communication for events and the App is used when we wish to send a reminder or communicate quickly.
As always if you have any questions or concerns we encourage you to contact your classroom teacher or any of the staff in the office.
