Jean is a retired biology teacher who visited Casebrook on Tuesday 21st February.
The inquiry focus this term is whakawhanaunga (relationships). Rooms 5 and 6 have been learning about the ocean and our relationship with the ocean.
Jean (Bailey's gran) came in to share her knowledge about the rocky shore at Wainui.
Here are some quotes from students in Rooms 5...
Luca: 'I learnt that a crab's mouth chews sideways instead of up and down.'
Violet: 'I learnt about the different food chains in the rocky shore.
'Will: 'That some of the organisms in the sea need less water than others to survive.'
Everyone learnt a lot and students are looking forward to searching for organisms when they are next down at the rocky shore!
