We had two football and one mixed hockey team compete in the Koru Games held over the past three days in Prebbleton and Rolleston. Thank you to the coaches and supporters. A three day tournament, with back to back games was a new experience for many of our young people. Back at school on Wednesday afternoon we had the Super Challenge Film Festival. A big thank you to Sam Kirk for her fabulous organisation and creativity.
As I have mentioned in previous newsletters the government is mounting a large nationwide campaign to address the school attendance rates across the country. It is called, "Every School Day is a Big Day" and focuses on learning but also on the importance of friendships and engagement in a range of activities, all things that are part of the normal school day. We are closely monitoring the attendance of our students and are here to offer assistance if you as a family need support in ensuring your child is here every day. If you are unsure, or have questions about a situation please contact us.
Next Thursday night we have our Showcase, "Spring into Action". This replaces our school production, just for this year. It was too difficult to plan a large show with the uncertainties and absences we have experienced, particularly during Terms One and Two. However I am sure you will enjoy the variety performance. Tickets are now on sale from the office for $5.00.
This is the last newsletter for Term Three. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and we will see you all back for a very busy Term Four.
