As Aotearoa celebrates the first public holiday for Matariki, Casebrook put on a celebration of culture and kai to bring in the Māori New Year.
The Kapa Haka and Pasifika group shone as bright as the Matariki stars last Wednesday night for our shared celebration for Matariki. Both groups performed a bracket of song and dance to show their passion for their cultures.
It was an amazing event with over 300 people in attendance. The kai was prepared by our Pasifika leaders and helpers from Room 1. The menu was varied and delicous. Sapasui and hot sausages were definitely appreciated on the night!
A huge thanks to our whānau who came to support their children and our event. It is the first one in what hopefully will become a tradition here at Casebrook.
