A group of Year 8 Art extension students attended a day trip into central Christchurch. Starting at the Christchurch Art Gallery students observed a range of artworks and drew areas of interest.
Through the process of printmaking every student produced a print to take home.
The afternoon was filled by a walking tour around the Christchurch CBD viewing a range of Street Art. Through "Watch This Space" we were guided by Reuben Woods to a range of works where we were informed about each work in depth. Wonderful to view and learn about the huge range of work that is showcasing in our city and supporting the arts.
One of the highlights was that if students could find the hidden artwork it was theirs to take home. Thanks Reuben!
Inspired by what we have learnt and to take that new knowledge back to the classroom and into their own work is exciting. A fantastic day had by all and a big thank you to our wonderful parent helpers Eve Curtis and Janine Gray Lum.
