The 2022 International Competition and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) is open and this year parents and whānau can enter their child directly via the ICAS Parent website.
“Each competition provides an opportunity for all students to gain a measure of their own achievement in an external assessment situation. It provides schools and teachers with comprehensive reporting of results and also gives parents helpful information regarding their child's performance. The competition takes place each year in schools throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Region and your child is invited to participate.”
All students receive a Certificate and an individual Results Letter indicating which questions they answered correctly, as well as the average mark for New Zealand. The Results Letter is also useful for highlighting students' strengths and weaknesses in the skills and processes of the subject assessed.
As this is an optional opportunity there is an entry fee for each competition is as follows:
The entry fee for each competition is $20.70
(except writing which is $27.03)
In 2022, parents register their child and pay the entry fee directly through ICAS – not the school.
