REP FOCUS

By Shona Mckenzie | Posted: Wednesday March 2, 2022

This week's REP focus was about putting your rubbish in the correct bins.

Around the school there has been a lot of littering noticed. The purpose of this week's REP lesson is to educate Casebrook students about the importance of putting your rubbish in the correct bins.

RECYCLING

Aluminium cans, flattened cardboard, glass bottles and containers, plastic containers and bottles etc.

All of the above need to be cleaned out if they have had any liquid or food products that haven’t been cleaned out.

RUBBISH

Takeaway containers, milk, juice and yoghurt cartons etc, biodegradable packaging.

The above DO NOT need to be cleaned out because unlike recycling their purpose is not to be reused.

COMPOST

At Casebrook we have a compost bin for our food scraps, these are emptied most days every week. These are emptied behind the food room and should not contain any plastic wrapping.

PAPER4TREES

Any paper bigger than your palm does not need to be put in the recycling bin but instead it goes in the Paper4Trees bin to make an easier and more efficient way of recycling that can also help the environment.

If you follow these guidelines well you are displaying our school REP values and might also be awarded a REP card by a teacher. You will also be put into a Spin to Win draw for assembly.
