Maddison McDonald, better known as Maddie, is our Head Girl for 2022.
Maddie wanted to apply for head girl because she wanted to be a leader in our school and to make her family proud. She presented a speech to the school about why she thought she was the right choice for the role and then held a campaign with games and prizes.
Maddie feels as if doing those speeches and becoming a leader has helped her to improve her public speaking skills. She feels confident talking in front of a crowd. So far, Maddie's highlights this year have been working with the staff and students of Casebrook. She enjoys listening to peoples ideas and making them happen. Maddie also loved the Wainui camp because there were lots of opportunities to do activities that she doesn't usually do, such as coasteering. She felt she really challenged herself!
In her spare time Maddie enjoys sport! She represents Harewood in hockey, CANU club in athletics, Casebrook in hockey and touch and loves to ride her horse, Austin. Maddie also enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
This year, as head girl, Maddie would like to help other students and make Casebrook a better place before she leaves. She is looking forward to the challenges that comes with the role and can't wait for the year ahead!
