James Ryan - young author!

James has written an incredible book that has been published and was launched over the holidays.

James originally started to write the book as a school project while at primary school and now it is a fully published book. James has not published any other books before so this was his only one. The book took six months to write which is quite a long time. James then had to wait two years for it to be published. 

All the money that James gets from selling the book he donates to The Canterbury Museum, which is a great way to spend the money. At the big opening, James was nervous but as he got further into his speech he got better and better. James got his photos from Africa, online, the museum, and Weta Digital. James wrote the book himself but he also got help from Bateman Publishing and people from the museum.  

The book launch was held with the opening of the museum's new exhibition called Fur, Fangs and Feathers. James was lucky enough to be interviewed by Jason Gunn at the launch and there was a feature of him on The Project.
