A very warm welcome to both new and returning students, their families, and whānau. Thank you all for ensuring our young people were school ready with uniforms and stationery, it has helped make it a very smooth start to the year. More importantly we are thrilled that they are so excited to be here and so full of enthusiasm. As a staff we will work hard to ensure this continues.
Thank you for attending the interviews we held prior to school beginning. It is a big help for our staff to have met you and learn a little about your expectations for the year. A close school - whānau connection is very important to us.
We appreciate these are unusual times with COVID 19 in our country. Please be assured we have procedures in place and systems that will kick into play if or when needed. At all times our communication with you, our community, is viewed as a top priority. Please check your App alerts and ensure your contact details are current. Also we ask that you only enter the school grounds if absolutely necessary and then please report directly to the office. Normally at this time of year we are encouraging you to come in and meet with us, I hope this will be the case in the near future.
This week Room 5 has gone on camp to Wainui. They are the first Year Eight group and the remainder of the classes will follow over the next three weeks. Year Sevens surfing days begin next week. These activities are held early in the year to encourage team building and assist classes with getting to know each other and their teacher. If you have questions or need support with these events please contact me as we want all of our students to participate.
The school year is still new and as routines are developed you may have questions or concerns. Please do not hesitate to contact us. The sooner an issue is addressed the better the result for all involved. Mr Mark Russell is our Learning Support Coordinator and is there as a first point of call. You are also always welcome to contact your child's teacher or any of us in the office, myself, Mr Nick Leith the Deputy Principal and Mr Will Stribling the Assistant Principal.
We are all looking forward to the year ahead and will ensure the Casebrook environment is as safe and engaging as we can make it.
