Contributions from the coin trail will be donated to the 'Cancer Society' and 'Kiwi Kids with Cancer'. It is difficult for our charities to fundraise at the moment and so it is great we can contribute.

The majority of our students have returned to school and are very happy to be here.  However, we know the transition back can be difficult for some and so we encourage you to contact Mr Mark Russell if you require assistance.

I would like to thank our teachers and teacher aides for their willingness and the engaging manner in which they adapted to providing online learning.  The feedback from our community was very positive and in turn, we thank you our community for supporting our efforts.

Thank you also, to the office staff.  They created and distributed approximately 45 paperwork packs and 150 chromebooks.   Thank you to those who have returned the chromebook but we still have 15 outstanding.  We would appreciate these back as soon as possible as they are all used by students in our classrooms.

This week we held the student speech finals.  Students prepared their speeches and took part in class presentations when working from home. The finals were held as a zoom so that all our students could watch.  The quality of both the content and delivery was outstanding.  Congratulations to all of our finalists and to:

  • 1st -   Leon Grieg          R16
  • 2nd - Elliot Aitchison     R16
  • 3rd -  Ari Keshariya       R1

We have moved our school show to the first week of Term 4.  We are hoping by then to be at Level 1 and so can invite an audience.  If not, it will still go ahead and we will video it.  At the moment it is wonderful walking around the school and hearing the music and watching classes practice their dances.

Our school focus for the remainder of the term is to provide as many experiences for our young people as possible so their time at school is enjoyable and engaging. We also know that we need to be adaptable and go with changes when and if they come.

As always please contact us if we can be of any support or you have any concerns.
