Two EPro8 teams competed in construction and electronic challenges at Cobham Intermediate on Monday 26 July and both have made it through to the semi finals to be held in two weeks time.
It was an exciting night that started at 5pm and went through until 8. Both teams were towards the top of the scoreboard all night but nothing was certain until the final scores when the time ran out.
One team, consisting of Toby, Max, Sawyer and Leo, worked on constructing a netball hoop and setting up two fans to blow a balloon into the hoop. The other team, consisting of Corey, Marcel and Michael, made a precious art work and then had to construct a safe to keep it secure. The safe was further proofed by alarms on the door and easel, and lasers to catch any would-be intruders.
Both teams used their skills and knowledge to work effectively together, showing perseverance to achieve tasks that increased in difficulty as they went.
I would like to commend them for their efforts which saw us take out 2nd and 3rd place, making us the only school from this round with two teams going through to the semi-finals.
