Due to Covid levels and the ongoing refurbishment of our canteen and hall, this week was our first full school assembly. It was an opportunity for students to be awarded their REP badges and a time for our student leaders to introduce themselves and share the various activities they have planned. Thank you to the parents and whānau who attended, it is always extra special for our young people if their successes are celebrated.
During the past two weeks, we have had a number of sporting events including the school swimming sports and the inter-school triathlon. These events have involved a large number of our students and I thank Mr Tom Straker for his organization and parents for attending and in some cases assisting with transport.
If you assisted with camps or the Year 7 activity days you are welcome to join us tonight in the staffroom for a thank you gathering. These events could not happen without your support.
The term is fast disappearing. The Easter break begins next Friday, April 2 with school recommencing on Wednesday, April 7. During the last week of the term, on April 13 &14 we have our parent whānau interviews. These are very important as it is an opportunity to set goals for the year and discuss progress to date. If you require a time please book online or phone the school office. School will close at 2:00 pm on both of these days but if you would like your child supervised until 2:50 pm, please contact the school office. The last day of term is Friday, April 16.
Thank you all for your ongoing support. Our young people are arriving at school ready to learn and eager to engage in a range of activities. This has made it a successful start to the term for students and staff.
If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to seeing you at the interviews.
