Last weekend Ava Renner travelled to Dunedin and competed in the South Island Juniors Swimming Competition. I spoke to her to see what she got up to.
Cate: Hi Ava, I heard you participated in a swimming competition this weekend. New Zealand Juniors Swimming. How did that go?
Ava: I did my best in the 100m Butterfly, which I placed 2nd in.
Cate: How long did the swim take?
Ava: 1.18.26, which was a three second Personal Best for me. I also did six other races, but butterfly is my favourite style.
Cate: Was it a long trip?
Ava: It was in Dunedin at Moana Pools. The trip was about four hours long which was tiring. I enjoyed Dunedin a lot even though I was swimming a lot of the time.
Cate: Were there any other people from your pool?
Ava: No, I was the only one from AquaGym.
Cate: How long were you there for?
Ava: I stayed for three days and two nights.
Cate: Thanks for your time, Ava.
