During Term 3, Room 13, Room 16, and a writing extension group wrote essays about an event marked by adversity. From these groups, 18 students (9 from Year 7 and 9 from Year 8) were chosen to be entered into a national competition.

These essays were not successful in the national competition but we decided to hold an in-school competition with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each year level.
