A team of four Year 8s from Casebrook competed in the regional semi-finals of the EPro8 competition on Monday 31 August
EPro8 is a construction challenge that draws from a range of skills to complete a task. The team, Mia Polamalu, Zoey Marshall, Braeden Yu, and Harrison Brown, was one of three Casebrook teams that entered the regional heats. They placed 5th in the heats with the other two teams placing 9th and 12th. The top seven teams went through to the semi finals.
The Semis were held at Kaiapoi North School from 5pm to 8pm and consisted of a range of challenges. Our team hit the front early and performed admirably throughout to finish in 3rd place!
This placing entitles them to a spot in the Grand Final to be held on Tuesday September 8 at Christchurch South Intermediate. It will be another 3 hours of challenges involving problem solving, engineering and electronics.
With our students working so well together as a team and really demonstrating Respect, Excellence, and Perseverance, we wish them all the very best in their endeavours in the final.
