A descriptive recount of the dance off final in last weeks assembly.
As you all may know, all of the classes have been having dance offs and the two best classes had to perform in last week’s assembly. They were Room 1 and Room 3, Brock and I are going to talk about how it felt on stage.
So we were sitting through the whole assembly waiting for it to end, I was sitting through the whole assembly blowing on my thumb every time a new slide popped up on the screens. Slide after slide I was relieved then scared then relieved again, such mixed emotions.
It came, the slide said “Presenting Room 1” and Miss Muschamp went up on stage to explain what was happening, except she called us up first which was not ideal. So we all dragged ourselves up on stage getting into our positions.
We were dancing to Taylor Swift’s “Shake it off”, it's a very energetic and lively song. But Room 1 was dancing to Beyonce and the dance routine was very sassy. Personally I like their dance better than our own.
We were all fidgeting behind the curtain just wanting it to be over and done with. The music starts and we all aren't really in the mood to dance but we still acted as energetic as we could to deliver a decent dance routine and fair competition.
I was dancing in the front row and Brock was in the second and to be honest, it was not our best performance, we lacked energy and enthusiasm.
After we finished I didn't think we did too bad. So we piled off the stage and back into our seats, after we sat down Room 1 stood up and walked up the stairs and onto the stage.
They got into their positions and waited for their music to start, as soon as the music started I knew they had won. It was Dominic and Caleb that sold it for me.
We sat watching in defeat but I really liked their dance I wanted to learn it myself not only because it’s really cool but I love Beyonce.
So we ended up losing to Room 1, everyone was cheering and I was too. The funny thing was Dominic stayed in the finishing pose until pretty much his whole class was off the stage.
Mr Leys walked over to us and spoke uplifting words to us saying “You guys were so good” and “You were a lot better than them. We’ll get them next time” as well as “Im proud of you guys”. Then other teachers came up and did the exact same thing and to be honest I wasn’t put down, if anything I knew they were going to win. So to cheer us up Mr Leys let us have 15 minutes of free time, which we all ended up playing build up.
So that was Room 3 vs Room 1 Dance off and how we felt...well how I felt. It wasn't all bad, actually it was pretty close according to other students they said that we should have won but I don’t care, as long as we had fun, we all won.
