On Wednesday the 8th of September, the Science Extension Group went to the Kindercare on Sawyer Arms/Gardiners Rd.
We shared with the young students (ages 2-3) some experiments that we had learned in our Science extension classes like making oobleck, lava lamps, chemical reactions with baking soda and vinegar, as well as milk, food coloring and dish soap.
We had to simplify what we had learned in order to teach it to the younger kids, so this helped us to extend our understanding too.
The Science Extension group enjoyed going to Kindercare and I think the Kindercare kids liked it too! The experiments we showed the kids were simple, easy and the type you can do at home with a few ingredients.
We would like to thank Kindercare Sawyers Arms Road for letting us come, all the adults who helped with transport, and especially Mrs Johns for arranging it.
It was a great learning experience and heaps of fun.
