We interviewed Year 8 teacher, Mrs Ellen Petersen from Room 14, about her time at Casebrook Intermediate, her experience as a teacher, and some of her favourite things.
Mrs Petersen works with Miss Wilkinson in Room 14. She began her teaching career at Casebrook Intermediate in 2009, after her final placement. She has taught in both New Zealand and Australia.
Mrs Petersen really loves teaching intermediate students. She enjoys assisting students in developing their social, emotional and educational skills over Year 7 and 8, helping them to become more independent. Her favourite thing about Casebrook is the people, someone is always willing to help.
Outside of school Mrs Petersen enjoys swimming, water polo, netball, the outdoors and spending time with her family and friends. Something she is really proud of is completing her Master’s degree in business, it was a tough year with lots of challenges! She is most proud of her children Sofia (3) and Henry (1).
We are really excited to have Mrs Petersen here at Casebrook!
